Bahuchara Mata is most worshiped a Hindu goddess. She was a daughter of a charan Bapal dan Detha. She was on a journey along with her sisters with a caravan when a pirate named Bapiya assaulted their parade. It was regular practice among charan men and ladies, if overwhelmed by their enemies, not to surrender but rather to slaughter themselves. Shedding the blood of charan was viewed as a terrible sin. When Bapiya assaulted the caravan, Bahuchara and her sisters reported tragu (self-immolation) and cut their breasts. Legend tells that Bapiya was cursed and became impotent. The condemnation was lifted just when he worshiped Bahuchara Mata by dressing and acting like a lady.
